Make These Energy Balls Your Own

The great thing about these snacks is that you can throw in whatever nuts, seeds, powders or flavours you fancy or whatever is left over in your cupboard. It’s a great way to use those left over ingredients that are drying up on your shelf.

Chocolate Energy Balls and Healthy Fats

Some people are scared of eating fat. We was told be the media for a long time that we should avoid it, however more and more people are learning that fat is absolutely essential for many functions in the body. Especially omega-3 fatty acids. In this recipe we have used hemp and chia seeds, a great source of omega-3 for vegans and vegetarians. The nuts and nut butter in this recipe is a great source of monounsaturated fat, helping to reduce bad cholesterol and keep us satiated.

Energy Balls for Kids

Omega-3’s are essential for brain and eye development in children, that is why these chocolate energy balls are perfect snacks for kids. Your There is no added sugar in these energy balls, just natural sweetness from the dates which is enough to make them oh so delicious.

We love to use Medjool dates for this recipes as they are super soft and sticky making the perfect energy ball texture.

Chocolate & Maca Powder

In this recipe we have used The Chocolate One superfood mix and The Maca One superfoods mix. These two mixes which are high in minerals like magnesium and iron are especially great for boosting mental and physical energy.

Steps

  1. 1

Add the dates, nuts, nut butter, milk, seeds and superfood powders into a food processor and process until the mixture sticks together. If the mixture is a little dry add another teaspoon of milk and whizz again until sticky.

  2. 2

Roll golf ball sized amounts of the mixture into balls then roll into the topping of your choice. And enjoy!
